office

We are looking for energetic and quality-oriented individuals for immediate, full-time employment within our multidisciplinary design office.

Senior Architect

We are seeking a mature and highly organised individual with strong leadership skills to take charge of a number of urban, architectural and interior design projects.

If you are a qualified architect with hands-on experience in architectural design and detailing, tendering documentation, contractual procurement and site work; possess knowledge of local planning requirements and building regulations; have excellent communication skills as well as a keen attention to detail, we would like to hear from you.

The chosen candidate will be offered attractive conditions and remuneration, including the possibility of associateship.

A minimum of three years practice after obtaining the warrant of Architect and Civil Engineer is required, as well as the possession of a valid driving licence. Good communication skills and fluency in English will be essential, while knowledge of the Maltese language shall be considered as an asset.

Architect

We are seeking a passionate design professional, ideally with some prior work experience, who can work both independently and within a design team, with a positive attitude and a drive to learn and excel. You should possess solid design skills, have an eye for detail and a passion for design quality and the built environment. You should also have good communication and presentation skills, be well organised, be flexible to work on different tasks as may be deemed appropriate, and be able to deliver to tight schedule.

An attractive package will be offered to the chosen candidate. The possession of a warrant of Architect and Civil Engineer, experience in a studio-based environment and proficiency in local planning procedures and current building regulations, will be considered as assets for this post.

We would also consider the possibility of employing a fresh architecture graduate if a strong design portfolio is presented. You should be passionate about contextual, sustainable and innovative design, and have a good working knowledge of the latest presentation and design software, including AutoCAD/ArchiCAD, Photoshop and 3D modelling and rendering software. We will offer you the opportunity to work in a professional environment on a number of exciting and challenging design and research projects, allowing you to be involved in diverse aspects of the profession in fulfilment of the Warrant requirements.

Site Architect

We are seeking a quality-driven architect to follow and manage a number of projects on site in the phase of execution. Ideally a warranted architect with at least three years of experience on site, you will liaise between the design team at studjurban, our structural engineering consultants and on-site team.

You will need to be a highly organised individual, and be able to communicate clearly and effectively in both Maltese and English, ensuring that the design intent and permit conditions are followed through. You also need to be knowledgeable about building legislation, planning policies, site health and safety considerations, and the role of all individuals on site. You will also be able to handle contract documentation and a range of detailed drawings, both architectural and structural. Importantly, you will be solution-focused and be able to address issues as they may arise on site, reverting back to the design team when and as required.

In some projects you will also be involved in the execution of services and finishes and you will therefore have a good knowledge of architectural detailing and materials, including technical specifications.

We would also consider the possibility of employing MCAST graduates or individuals with practical years of experience on site who may not possess academic qualifications at a tertiary level.
