Landscape Architect

We are seeking a talented, highly collaborative, motivated and self-driven landscape architect with design flair, an eye for detail and a passion for creating high-quality landscaping designs. You will need to have strong design and technical skills, and contribute to a large, evolving, and exciting programme of work across a range of scales and locations. You will be able to rely on the support of a design team that works together in a respectful, energetic, and fun manner and that bases its design on meticulous design aesthetics and principles, with an attention to detail in research, design and delivery. We will actively support your professional development.

You will be a key member of the design team and work on a variety of projects from concept design through to implementation on-site, liaising and coordinating with multiple disciplines including architects and engineers. You will also prepare relevant information for the planning, tender, and construction stages including 3D visuals, schedules for costing, detailed design drawings, and outline planting plans. You will liaise with contractors and maintain documentation to a high standard and present landscape proposals to public and private entities, authorities, agencies and clients.

Prospective candidates need to have completed a landscape architecture undergraduate degree or have a post-graduate specialisation in landscape design following an undergraduate degree in architecture, with a minimum of two to three years of professional experience. Candidates also need to possess extensive plant knowledge and experience in planting design and specification, especially with regard to Mediterranean species. Strong technical design skills and high proficiency with AutoCAD and Rhino, knowledge and experience of Revit will be an asset. A thorough knowledge of construction design and detailing and production of technical specifications and Bills of Quantities, procurement and construction documentation will be essential for this role. Candidates also need to possess strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills including freehand sketching and using Adobe Creative Suite, be able to develop their own presentations and have excellent people management skills to liaise with different project stakeholders.

Architect

We are seeking a passionate design professional, ideally with some prior work experience, who can work both independently and within a design team, with a positive attitude and a drive to learn and excel. You should possess solid design skills, have an eye for detail and a passion for design quality and the built environment. Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and Rhino shall be considered a must, whereas knowledge of the Adobe suite (notably Illustrator and Photoshop) and 3D rendering software shall be considered an asset. You should also have good communication and presentation skills, be well organised, be flexible to work on different tasks as may be deemed appropriate, and be able to deliver to tight schedule.

An attractive package will be offered to the chosen candidate. The possession of a warrant of Architect and Civil Engineer, experience in a studio-based environment and proficiency in local planning procedures and current building regulations, will be considered as assets for this post. We would also consider the possibility of employing a fresh architecture graduate if a strong design portfolio is presented. You should be passionate about contextual, sustainable and innovative design, and have a good working knowledge of the latest presentation and design software. Site Architect

We are seeking a quality-driven architect to follow and manage a number of projects on site in the phase of execution. Ideally a warranted architect with at least three years of experience on site, you will liaise between the design team at studjurban, our structural engineering consultants and on-site team.

You will need to be a highly organised individual, and be able to communicate clearly and effectively in both Maltese and English, ensuring that the design intent and permit conditions are followed through. You also need to be knowledgeable about building legislation, planning policies, site health and safety considerations, and the role of all individuals on site. You will also be able to handle contract documentation and a range of detailed drawings, both architectural and structural. Importantly, you will be solution-focused and be able to address issues as they may arise on site, reverting back to the design team when and as required.

In some projects you will also be involved in the execution of services and finishes and you will therefore have a good knowledge of architectural detailing and materials, including technical specifications.

We would also consider the possibility of employing MCAST graduates or individuals with practical years of experience on site who may not possess academic qualifications at a tertiary level.
