Dualities

This dwelling achieves flexibility and versatility through the creation of intelligent contemporary spaces. At its heart lies a central double height volume, incorporating an open plan living-dining-kitchen area, which is overlooked by a perched mezzanine and lightweight bridge connecting the two halves of the house at the upper level. Being involved from an early stage in the dwelling’s construction, we had the opportunity to suggest interventions that would fulfil this objective. Light filtration was a key designd eterminant, achieved through the integration of skylights and optimisation of apertures. Storage was another key issue, achieved with several units and shelving. Wood features throughout the property, adding a touch of warmth to the living spaces.
